Reporting Your Gardasil Side Effects

Share
It is important to report any adverse effects that you or your child experience after receiving the Gardasil vaccine. The information you submit can help identify previously unknown side effects, common pre-disposing factors, and fuel new research. Here are a few websites that provide online surveys:

Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) A government program for vaccine safety, co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

RateADrug.com – Quick 5 minute, anonymous Gardasil survey. RateADrug is a community site for sharing experiences and learning about risks and benefits of prescription medications and alternative treatments. Post comments and view other people’s experiences with Gardasil.

National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) – Longer, more in depth questionnaire. This is a non-profit organization that advocates vaccine safety and preventing vaccine injury through education.

My 17 year old daughter received her second vaccination on Mar 10 2009. Four days later she began having headaches and fatique.Within 2 weeks she was having non-epiletic seizures, tremors, numbness and pain in all her extremeties. She has been hospitalized twice with still no answers. She was a healthy energetic cheerleader before Gardasil now she can barely get out of the bed.Her hair is falling out in clumps and she has lost 40 lbs. This has been a nightmare.I was just trying to protect my daughter. Her senior year is now spent hospital homebound.

I'm so sorry; what a nightmare. I hope you'll find the key to getting her better soon.

The weird thing is that it's usually the really athletic girls who seem to have problems--have you discussed that with your doctor and--assuming that you have reported this to VAERS--do researchers mention this connecting thread at all? Do the doctors think it's connected to Gardasil or do they have another theory?

Yes I have noticed as well that most of the girls are athletic.I have reported it to Vaers. We have came across one neurologist who was onboard with it being Gardasil. For the most part her doctors won't even consider it until it has been "proven".She is now on a vitamin regiment along with avoiding all aluminum products..antiperspirant,cannned foods, processed cheese etc.Her lumbar puncture showed high levels of aluminum.Which is what the shot is full of.We are scared of doing a metal detox because she has lost so much weight and it may just be too much for her.Seems most moms I have talked to who are in our situation are having some positive results homeopathically. The pain medications are themselves full of aluminum and really do not help the pain.We are seeing a slight improvement in her since she began with the diet change and vitamins.

I am absolutely gob-smacked. I've never heard anyone say anything about doing a lumbar puncture before--do you know if they've tried doing this with other Gardasil girls who've experienced problems? And what did your doctor say about all the aluminum? "It's normal"?

I have been talking to a scientist who is quite convinced that aluminum is a problem and won't allow his own child to be vaccinated with anything aluminum-containing (pretty much all of them). However, I haven't written anything about that yet for one reason and another.

From the famalies I have talked to,it seems to be that girls with tremors and the seizures are having the same results come back on their spinal fluid. Not all girls are affected neurologically so many girls never are tested in that way.As far as what the doctors say...three words.I don't know. The reason being all the other tests,MRIs EEGs xrays blood work all come back absolutely normal. That is a common thread through practically all the girls. That's what is so frustrating,go to doctor after doctor and never getting answers. The number of girls ill vs. the number of vaccinations given allows this to go on.I just want mother's to make an educated decision and know all the facts before immunizing. We were naive and trusted in a doctor's advice.Check out the yahoo group Lets_Talk_About _Gardasil.Almost all our stories are identical.

Please do not take the Guardisil shot nor let your daughter take it!!! Here is my story...

I completed my series of three Guardisil shots. I am a very healthy young 25 year old woman who never had any issues with vaginal health prior to this. Shortly after my third Guardisil shot, I found that I developed a SEVERE urinary tract infection (that is what they diagnosed it to be anyway). I was treated twice for it as the first treatment did not relieve the symptoms. I went to two doctors for help. They said it would go away. After the second treatment and constant vaginal creams to calm the burning and pain, I then developed problems urinating properly. I visited two urologists who repeatedly performed exams and catheterized me (causing me so much pain!) to find the problem (both suspecting there was an infection in the bladder). The outcome was there was NO INFECTION in the bladder and after both of these doctors as well as my OBGYNs had no answers, their answer was to put me on antibiotics! It seems doctors always want to prescribe antibiotics for EVERTHING... this of course did not help.

I cried EVERYDAY over the intense pain and burning! I literally would cry out screaming, tears running down my face even in public. I was in a very long term, committed relationship. I almost lost my partner due to the fact that I could not be intimate for almost a YEAR!

I FINALLY was able to see a specialist, a Urogynecologist, who could not even perform an exam because I was in such extreme pain. He prescribed steroid creams and numbing creams. I also went to a Natural doctor who prescribed marshmallow root to bring down the swelling and irritation. I was put on an all organic diet, taken off caffeine, etc. After about a month, I was instructed to go into surgery where they took samples of my vaginal wall, at the extreme tender areas and found that my vaginal tissue was CRONICALLY INFLAMED DUE TO AN ALLERGIC REACTION CAUSED BY THE GUARDISIL SHOTS.

It is now almost 2 years since I first started the shots and I am just getting my life back. Please, please, please do not allow yourself or your young daughters to take this shot that has not been thoroughly tested NOR IS PROVEN TO WORK. PEOPLE HAVE DIED BY TAKING THIS "VACCINE". This has been by far the worst experience of my life.

I also wanted to add that when I asked on NUMEROUS occasions what my OBGYNs knew of the shot, two of them said that it is supposed to really help, but it is new so they weren't sure about it. After getting all of my shots I did experience pain at the injection site and slight fevers, but they said that was normal...

My daughter had the vaccination in the fall of 2006, before her freshman year in college. Since then and now, she is experiencing chronic fatigue, body inflammation especially in lymph nodes, blurry vision, headaches, joint pains, etc. She calls me crying very often as she lives 6 hours away. At first, I didn't even think about these problems being related to the Gardasil shot. After tons of medical testing, even a visit to Mayo Clinic where they diagnosed her with Chronic Fatigue, with no apparent reason, I am convinced her symptoms are a reaction to the Gardisil Shot. My daughter was a star athlete in high school, very fit and active, very bright. She is struggling through her days to get her college degree. Can anyone give me any information out there on some homepathic remedies to try and alleviate her symptoms. She is currently trying a glueten free diet. This is not normal for a healthy 21 year old girl. She never really feels good. I am extremely saddened by her situation. I will not let any of my other children get this vaccination - NEVER. Please tell your friends not to have their daughters get this vaccination. If anyone can please give me any information on how to "get rid" of this vaccination out of her body please e-mail me at mweninger@nd.gov. Thank you and god bless and and I am sorry for those that have had deaths and paralysis from this vaccination. My daughter is sick and I am 100% convinced it is from this shot as we have spent tons of money on medical costs with no answer. Her next appointment to the rhumatologist is soon and I will be bringing this issue up.

My daughter had her 2nd gardasil last Feb. and also was an athlete that started experiency pain and headaches. She got sick Jan. 6 of this year with low platelets severe headache, her whole body was in pain. We stayed in the hospital for six days. From that point on we have seen a hemotologist and a rheumatologist. She is on steroids plus other meds to control pain and nausea. I am at a loss with what to do. I have contacted her rheumatolgist to see if there is any chance the gardasil could have triggered any of this. She was so healthy. I need advice. Thanks.

Hello, my oldest daughter(now almost 17) had the series of shots a couple years ago. I think the first went ok, but after the second, her joints and muscles ached so bad she just sat and cried-I thought she maybe had the flu. This lasted for a few days. it went away-thought all was ok. Then she got her last shot and got the same horrible aching and joint pain. This too passed. Now, we have been trying to figure out what is going on with her lately, she aches so bad she cant stand it, sore throat, and nausia and fatigue. We had her into doc last week and they ran all the usual blood tests for strep, mono, lymes, etc... all came back negative and she is still sick. Im seriously wondering if it has anything to do with this vaccine. I know that my other 3 daughters will never get this vaccine! And I feel horrible that I had her get these shots!

I am 26 years old and I was 25 when I got the vaccine. After completing all three shots I began to have chronic fatigue and joint pain. I also passed out and hit my head. Now I have a permanent mark from the fall.I began getting a red rash on my face and I thought I might have lupus but the doctors said that all the tests came back fine. Sometimes I feel fine and other times I don't. Prior to receiving the vaccine I was extremely healthy. I wouldn't recommend this vaccine to anyone.
